June 15, 1977 from the WRAL-TV studio.
What a piece of history this is. Credited with being the match that made Ricky Steamboat a star. Ric Flair is the TV Champion. His partner Greg Valentine is on color and spends the match talking about this "young punk" Steamboat being in his first main event.
From the WPCQ-TV studio.
One of the true pleasures of pro wrestling in the 1980's was hearing manager Gary Hart talk about "da grate ka-boo-key". According to Hart nobody wants to take on Kabuki. Jimmy Valiant says he's game, gets a quick pin and a face full of red mist as a reward.
March 28, 1988 from Birmingham for the Alabama Heavyweight Championship.
Part of the build up to one of the most famous hardcore angles of the 1980's. Dirty White Girl was known as Lady Mystic here for some reason.
Before they "took it to the extreme," Todd Gordon's Eastern Championship Wrestling was a small local indy with a time slot on SportsChannel.
In the opening segment of the May 4, 1993 show Eddie Gilbert and Don Muraco faced J.T. Smith and Glen Osborne. The end of the match saw a surprise run in by Gilbert, Muraco and Snuka's new manager Paul E. Dangerously.
The rest is history.
May 12, 1984 from Memphis Wrestling.
Not the greatest day of Jimmy Hart's life. Jim "the Anvil" Neidhart quits the first family and takes the Mouth of the South's entire stable with him. Neidhart's Raiders is formed.
Warning - as said before theres a couple second gap in the tape right at the finish. Apparently this was a problem with the original master tape (or so I'm told). This is the finish of the match and cool disco music exits.
From the WTBS studio. The Natureboy takes on future World Class Champion Black Bart when he was known as Rick Harris. I believe this is from April 4, 1981.
